Meet the Torrance Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Torrance

Every gate we open, diagnose, and repair in Torrance carries the same weight as a commercial access-control job. That’s the habit Adrian Vance brought from 2014, and it’s the habit this crew keeps. We’re a small, local team, not a rotating cast of subcontractors. The technician who answers your questions is the same one who shows up with a written price, a photo log, and a 365-day promise standing behind the work.

Our People

Adrian Vance, Owner & Lead Gate Technician

Adrian founded Vance Gate Repair Torrance in 2014 after years of commercial access-control work, where wiring diagrams and documented adjustments were not optional. He still runs jobs himself, and you’ll often find him on his knees at a gate opener with a multimeter and a torque wrench. His specialty is motor diagnostics across all nine major brands we service: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. He’ll tell you the limit switch was set 12 degrees past travel, reset it, and photograph the new position before he leaves. Off the clock, Adrian keeps a logbook of every gate he’s repaired since the first year, and he can still tell you what was wrong with job number 3,412.

Miguel R., Senior Installation Technician

Miguel has been setting gates in the South Bay for 14 years, the last six of them with Vance. His specialty is steel fabrication and full installation, especially on sloping driveways where the hinges and post alignment have to be set dead level or the gate will sag within a season. Miguel holds welding certifications for MIG and TIG work, and he’s the one who builds the custom brackets when a stock part won’t fit the existing post. Every install he completes leaves with a photo log of the post depth, the weld points, and the final alignment. Miguel keeps a small notebook in his truck with torque specs for every hinge size he’s ever used, and the pages are worn thin.

Danielle C., Service Coordinator

Danielle is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m. and the one who makes sure the right technician with the right parts is on the way. She’s been with Vance Gate Repair for five years and knows the trade vocabulary well enough to ask you whether the gate is humming but not moving, or moving but not stopping where it should. That distinction alone saves a trip and gets the right motor part on the truck the first time. Danielle also builds the job file for every appointment, which includes the technician’s name and photo, the written price, and the photo log from the previous visit if there was one. When she’s not dispatching, she’s the one who reads through the 365-Day Done Right Promise claims and gets the follow-up scheduled that same week.

Tommy K., Apprentice Technician

Tommy is in his second year with the crew, and he’s already the person who handles most photo-eye alignments and post-lubrication callouts. He spends a lot of his week with Adrian reading voltage readings on swing-gate motors and learning how a misaligned safety beam, the infrared eye that stops the gate if something crosses its path, can be off by two inches and shut the whole system down. Tommy is quick with the small fixes but he knows which ones are dangerous, and he doesn’t touch high-tension springs without a senior tech on site. Outside of work, Tommy keeps a photo album on his phone of every unusual gate failure he’s seen, and it’s a strange but genuinely useful reference library.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

What ties this crew together is not a uniform or a slogan. It’s a set of habits that don’t change from one job to the next. Every job gets a written price before any work starts, under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard. Every visit ends with a documented photo record of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was replaced, under Clause 4. And every completed repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not right within a full year, we make it right. No argument, no re-quote, no expiration games. The paperwork is the work, and the team in Torrance treats a residential gate call with the same documentation discipline Adrian learned on commercial access-control sites years ago.
